The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released its 2025 Light the World video, titled “The First Christmas Story, Retold by Children.” The video features children reenacting and reciting the Nativity story from Luke 2, combined with scenes from the Church’s earlier production, “The Christ Child,” which was released in 2019.

The new video was published on November 30, 2025, across the Church's social media platforms. It is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Viewers are invited to "experience the joy that comes from the Savior of the world."

This year’s initiative also includes versions produced by Church areas in Kenya, the Philippines, Brazil, and South America. These adaptations reflect local languages and cultural traditions. The videos in French, Tagalog, Portuguese, and Spanish will be distributed through various official channels.

Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke about this initiative at an event in Kansas City on November 22: “The Light the World initiative is rooted in the biblical teaching of Jesus Christ, who declared, ‘I am the light of the world’ (John 8:12). His light was never meant to be admired from afar. It was meant to be shared. When we give, whether it be through a machine, a donation, or even just a kind act, we become His light.”

Further resources for participating in Light the World—including videos and an interactive idea generator—are available at LighttheWorld.org. The website also offers a downloadable list of suggestions for adding service-oriented activities to holiday traditions.
