The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has started its 2025 Light the World initiative, encouraging people to serve others during the Christmas season. The campaign began in Salt Lake City on November 12 and has expanded globally.
A key part of this year's initiative is the Giving Machine kiosks, which are now present in 126 cities across 21 countries and six continents. These machines allow individuals to donate goods and services to those in need.
On November 12, a global launch event for the Giving Machine initiative took place at the Conference Center on Temple Square. Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman attended alongside Tiffany Larson, CEO of Days for Girls International, and Ana Peña from Mentors International.
As part of the ongoing activities, children share stories about the first Christmas in a new Light the World video released on November 30. Elder Stevenson also participated in a launch event in Kansas City, Missouri, while Giving Machine kiosks made their debut during a tree lighting event in Los Angeles.
