On October 28, 2024, Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met with Judith Suminwa Tuluka, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
During their meeting, Elder Renlund congratulated Prime Minister Tuluka on her new position and expressed his best wishes for her success. They discussed potential areas for collaboration between the Church and the government, focusing on health, education, access to drinking water, and humanitarian emergencies.
Prime Minister Tuluka took this opportunity to express her gratitude for the Church's presence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She highlighted that despite being a secular nation, "the current president of the republic solemnly placed the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the hands of God." She noted that "the Church has a great role to play in the guidance of families and youth who represent more than 60% of the population."
Elder Renlund assured Prime Minister Tuluka that "the Church will always provide its support to bless the development" of the country.
