Preliminary construction has started on the site designated for the Lehi Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This initial phase involves installing underground utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity, which will connect to existing city infrastructure. Grading work on the property is also included in this stage.

Lehi City officials have given approval for these activities. According to church representatives, design efforts for the temple are still underway, and no date has been set yet for an official groundbreaking ceremony.

Elder Brian K. Taylor, President of the Utah Area of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, stated, “We are excited for this first step in the process of building a house of the Lord in Lehi. This sacred edifice will be a blessing for Latter-day Saints in the area. We are grateful to the city of Lehi for their ongoing support and collaboration.”

The planned multi-story temple will be constructed on a 22.48-acre site located northwest of 3950 North and Center Street in Lehi. Once completed, it will become Lehi’s first temple.
