FamilySearch has announced that Rachel Platten, an Emmy Award-winning singer and songwriter, will be a keynote speaker at RootsTech 2025. The event is scheduled to take place from March 6 to March 8, 2025. Platten will share her personal journey of self-discovery and the creation of her career-changing track "Fight Song" on the first day of the conference.

Platten's keynote will include a musical performance and can be attended in person at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City or watched virtually for free on RootsTech.org. With 4.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Platten began her musical training with classical piano at age five and later learned guitar in high school. In the early stages of her career, she worked as an on-call vocalist for over 50 musicians and continues to participate in a program where she sings to hospital patients.

Her song "Fight Song," released in 2015 during a time when she needed hope, became her breakthrough hit and has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. Married to attorney Kevin Lazan since 2010, Platten dedicates her 2023 single "Girls" to their two daughters.

In addition to Platten, other in-person keynote speakers at RootsTech 2025 include artist Dana Tanamachi and Olympic gold medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall. Virtual keynote speakers will feature Ndaba Mandela, Los Chicaneros, Marco Lui, and Ysabelle Cuevas.
