Carrol Fay (Casteel) Rice, 81, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, Kentucky. Born on October 15, 1943, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Riley Edward and Edith Casteel, Fay was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Ludlow and a retired housecleaner for many local families.

Fay was preceded in death by her husband, William “Dan” Rice, I, her sons William “Bill” Rice II and Ben Rice, sister Patsy Burkhart, brothers Kenneth and Timothy Casteel, sisters-in-law Fairlane and Carmie Casteel, and brother-in-law Donald Roberts.

Survived by her daughter Carrol Lee Rice Perez and her husband, Abelardo Perez; sisters Lorraine Lyon, Dorris Jean Roberts; brother George Casteel; grandchildren Andrew Rice, Victor (Noelle) Rice-Perez, Adelaida Rice-Perez, Isabel Rice-Perez, Lucero Rice-Perez; and great-granddaughter Analia Rice.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Ludlow, Kentucky, with funeral services following, officiated by Pastors Norman Rice and Mike Pelfrey. Interment will take place at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright. Memorial contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Alliance Ohio. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron is assisting the family. Memorial trees or flowers can be ordered through the flower store in memory of Carrol Fay Rice.
