Galen Ray Burns, 72, of Petersburg, Kentucky, Passes Away

Galen Ray Burns, aged 72 and a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Born on February 8, 1952, in Petersburg to Galen S. and Lillian Burns, Galen retired as a Ramp Agent for Delta Airlines at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport. He was a member of Belleview Baptist Church and enjoyed horses, horse racing, and cheering for his favorite sports teams like the Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds, and UK Basketball.

Galen is survived by his mother, Lillian Burns; his sister from another mother, Stephanie (Chris) Morris; nieces and nephew Ethan, Lacey, and Bailey Morris; and a multitude of cousins. Galen was preceded in death by his father, Galen S. Burns.

No visitation is scheduled, with graveside services to be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Petersburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Boone Co. Animal Shelter in Burlington, KY. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron is providing assistance to the family. Sympathy offerings in the form of memorial trees or flowers can be sent via the flower store.
