The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has unveiled artistic renderings for six new temples in North America. These temples are planned for Cuernavaca, Mexico; Toluca, Mexico; Cincinnati, Ohio; Des Moines, Iowa; Missoula, Montana; and Tacoma, Washington.

The Cuernavaca Mexico Temple will be located on a 5.36-acre site in Colonia Vista Hermosa, Cuernavaca. It will be a single-story building of approximately 19,000 square feet. Church President Russell M. Nelson announced this temple during the October 2022 general conference, stating plans to build multiple temples near Mexico City to address travel challenges. "We are also planning to build multiple temples in selected large metropolitan areas where travel time to an existing temple is a major challenge," he said.

In Toluca, the temple will occupy a 4.87-acre site at Calle Guadalupe Victoria corner Uruapan in Metepec. This single-story structure will also cover about 19,000 square feet and was announced by President Nelson alongside the Cuernavaca Temple.

Ohio's first temple in Cincinnati will be built on a 35-acre site at Mason-Montgomery Road and Cedar Village Drive in Mason. The single-story temple will measure approximately 29,630 square feet. President Nelson revealed this project during the April 2024 general conference, emphasizing its significance: “The temple is the gateway to the greatest blessings God has for each of us.”

Des Moines will see Iowa's first temple on a 19.576-acre plot at 9050 NW 62nd Avenue in Johnston. The planned building size is about 18,850 square feet and was announced by President Nelson during the April 2024 general conference.

Missoula's first temple in Montana will rise on a 5.08-acre location at Old Bitterroot Road and Lower Miller Creek Road. It is designed as a single-story structure with an ancillary building covering around 19,000 square feet. This announcement came from President Nelson during the April 2022 general conference.

Lastly, Tacoma’s first temple in Washington will stand on an 11.6-acre site at approximately 1405 South 364th Way in Federal Way. Plans call for a multistory building of about 45,000 square feet with an accompanying utility structure.

Latter-day Saints use temples as places of worship for various spiritual purposes including making promises with God and uniting families through sacred ordinances.
