On December 5, 2024, members of the National Union of Organizations for The Disabled (NUOD), specifically those who are visually impaired, gathered at their National Headquarters in Sinkor, Monrovia. They were there to receive food items donated through the Church's Africa West communication department as part of the "Light the World" campaign.

The campaign aims to celebrate the birth of Christ and encourages people to share His light by emulating His acts. The food drive in Liberia was intended to help alleviate the burden on less privileged individuals in Monrovia during the festive season.

Salomie Weah, Liberia's National Communication Director, explained that the donation was financed from tithes and offerings from Church members. She expressed hope that it would enhance their Christmas celebrations. President Prince S. Nyanforh, Church Communications Department National Priesthood Chair, urged NUOD leaders to distribute the food to those most in need. He stated, “This food was bought by God's money, so let corruption go far from it so that you can be blessed."

Peter Flomo, President of NUOD, expressed gratitude for the timely donation and assured that he would ensure all designated beneficiaries received their share. He promised to safeguard the donated items.

The beneficiaries displayed joy and gratitude during the event, with many expressing thanks to the Church of Jesus Christ for their generosity. Some recipients inquired about church locations in Liberia, remarking that “any church that can help people is a good church.”

Mr. Flomo reaffirmed this gratitude on behalf of all beneficiaries: “Thank you to the Latter-Day Saints Church for coming to our aid at this time...our faces today can tell you how much grateful we are...we hope that you remember us next year again."

Media coverage was provided by Banna FM and TV and OK FM, which aired news of the ceremony on their evening broadcasts.
