The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a significant contribution to the Pérez Scremini Foundation in Montevideo, Uruguay. On September 17, 2024, the church donated an ultrasound machine and other medical supplies aimed at enhancing early cancer diagnosis for children.

Present at the donation event were Andrea Muñoz Spannaus, Second Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency, and Amy Wright, First Counselor in the Primary General Presidency. The equipment is expected to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment precision for young cancer patients under the care of the foundation.

Elder Eduardo Gavarret from the South America South Area Presidency led the ceremony alongside Dr. Ney Castillo, founder and medical advisor of Pérez Scremini. Both expressed their appreciation for this support.

Sisters Spannaus and Wright commended the foundation's efforts during their visit. They toured various facilities dedicated to medical care and oncology treatment, gaining insights into diagnostic procedures and therapies provided to children.

Dr. Ney Castillo conveyed his gratitude for the donation, stating that it will allow for quicker and more precise diagnoses. He emphasized that this advancement will enhance patient care and increase chances of successful treatments.
