The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced details for the 2025 Christmas devotional. The annual event, which centers on messages about Jesus Christ, will be broadcast on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
According to the announcement, “The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites individuals, families and friends to watch the First Presidency’s annual Christmas devotional broadcast on Sunday, December 7, 2025.”
This year’s devotional will feature messages from Church leaders and music performed by The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. However, unlike previous years, it will not be a live event open to the public. Instead, the program was prerecorded on the set of the Church’s “Savior of the World” production in Salt Lake City.
Viewers can access the broadcast through several channels. On December 7 at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, it will be streamed on Broadcasts.ChurchofJesusChrist.org in 39 languages, BYUtv, YouTube in 12 languages, Gospel Library app, and other stations worldwide. Local listings will provide information about availability in specific areas.
Areas within the Church may choose a date and time for viewing that best fits their needs. The devotional can also be downloaded from ChurchofJesusChrist.org or broadcasts.ChurchofJesusChrist.org for later viewing. Local Christmas programs have permission to use all or part of the broadcast as part of their celebrations.
Decisions about whether congregations gather in meetinghouses to watch together are left to local leaders.
Recordings of the devotional will be available for on-demand viewing through Gospel Library in 60 languages approximately one week after the initial broadcast. Video and audio recordings in most languages—and text versions in English, Spanish, and Portuguese—will also be accessible for use during family or unit Christmas events.
Information about language versions is provided for Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish speakers.
