On September 7, 2025, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a photograph of President Russell M. Nelson taken in his office at the Church Administration Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. The release comes just before President Nelson’s 101st birthday, which will be observed on Tuesday, September 9.

The church leader marked the occasion with a small family gathering at the administration building. Earlier in the week, President Nelson contributed an op-ed to TIME magazine. In the article, he stated, “His ‘birthday wish for all of us,’ he wrote, is to embrace eternal truths that ‘we are happiest when we remember our divine worth and extend that recognition to others — beginning with our own families.’”

President Nelson’s milestone has led many members and friends of the church around the world to reflect on his teachings and how they have influenced their faith and commitment to following Jesus Christ.
