Church marks President Nelson’s 101st birthday with weeklong online messages
Russell M. Nelson President | The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints

Prophet and President Russell M. Nelson, leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will turn 101 on September 9, 2025. To mark the occasion, the Church has announced that from September 2 through his birthday, its social media accounts will share messages from President Nelson.

A post dated September 1 on the Church’s Facebook and Instagram pages stated: “Over the next eight days, please learn with us as we focus on Russell M. Nelson: 101 — a series of important lessons from a beloved teacher. Each message offers insights into following the Savior with greater faith, love and devotion. We hope you will join in the conversation and share these inspired teachings.”

The Church is encouraging members and others to use the hashtag #PresidentNelson101 to share how President Nelson’s teachings have influenced their lives and strengthened their connection to Jesus Christ.

Last year, President Nelson invited people to celebrate his 100th birthday by reaching out to someone in need and “[spreading] the love of Jesus Christ.” Many individuals around the world participated in this initiative through social media platforms.

Church leaders and members are sharing posts on various platforms reflecting on lessons learned from President Nelson.
