LDS Church leader praises fathers as peacemakers on Father's Day

In a social media post on June 15, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shared his appreciation for peacemakers in celebration of Father's Day. He expressed gratitude for fathers who promote peace within their homes and communities.

President Nelson stated, “I’ve spoken recently about the need for peacemakers. On this Father’s Day I feel gratitude for all the fathers who act as peacemakers in their homes and communities.” He reflected on his own father's influence, saying, “My own father was an example of this during my childhood. And I have tried my very best to carry over his righteous influence into my own family, which now includes hundreds of people—each of whom I love dearly!”

In his message, President Nelson extended a promise to fathers worldwide: “Fathers, as you become peacemakers in your homes, you can literally thwart the influence of the adversary,” he said. “As you demonstrate the charity that true followers of Jesus Christ manifest, the Lord will magnify your efforts beyond your loftiest imagination.”

He concluded with encouragement for fathers to follow Jesus Christ: “As you follow the Prince of Peace, you will become His peacemakers.”
