Church President Russell M. Nelson dedicated the Syracuse Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 8, 2025. This temple marks the 24th in Utah and the 206th worldwide for the Church.

President Nelson described the temple as "the Lord’s house," emphasizing its spiritual significance: “It is filled with His power. Those who live His higher laws have access to His higher power.” He was joined by his wife, Wendy; Elder Quentin L. Cook and his wife, Mary; Elder Kevin R. Duncan and his wife, Nancy; and Elder Hugo E. Martínez and his wife, Nuria.

Drawing a parallel between Syracuse, Utah, and Syracuse, Italy, where Apostle Paul stayed briefly on his way to Rome (Acts 28:12), President Nelson remarked on the importance of this area: “This Syracuse, Utah, area of the Lord’s vineyard is important to the Lord.”

He assured local Latter-day Saints that attending the temple would bring them peace, protection, and personal revelation. He also highlighted blessings from temples through the Restoration of Jesus Christ's gospel: “We are such a blessed people! Consider how your life is different because of the Restoration... we can be sealed to our loved ones for all eternity!”

The announcement for this temple came during an April 2020 general conference. Its groundbreaking occurred on June 12, 2021, followed by a public open house ending May 31, 2025.

Utah hosts numerous temples including those in American Fork (Mount Timpanogos), Bountiful, Brigham City among others with more under construction or renovation like Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple and Salt Lake Temple.

Utah has over 2.2 million Latter-day Saints out of a population of approximately 3.5 million. Temples serve as places for worship where members seek God's love and peace while learning about His plan through sacred ordinances.
