Primary General President Susan H. Porter embarked on her first ministry trip to Asia in late May 2025, visiting six locations with growing communities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A significant part of her visit was to the National Pediatric Hospital and National Maternal and Child Health Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Accompanied by Asia Area President Elder Benjamin M.Z. Tai and his wife, Naomi, President Porter was welcomed by Hospital Director Dr. Nhip Angkeabos on May 29, 2025. They toured the surgical department, which has benefited from the Church's contributions.

Dr. Nhip commented on the collaboration with the Church: “The collaboration between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the National Pediatric Hospital has been ongoing for five years." He noted that the support provided equipment for surgeons and enhanced technical development at the hospital.

President Porter's visit included a stop at the National Maternal and Child Health Center, where she met Deputy Director Ngeth Titya. Dr. Ngeth highlighted their partnership: “The Center and the Church have similar aims…to make patients happy and treat them equally.”

During her visit, President Porter donated 200 stationery kits prepared by local Latter-day Saint children as part of a Primary initiative for service projects. She emphasized children's involvement: “Children’s hearts are touched when they think about children who have needs."

In Thailand, President Porter also engaged with Burmese members living in Bangkok during a Family Home Evening gathering. Member Aung Thu Kyaw shared his experience: "After the meeting, I felt that even though we're in a foreign country...I'm not alone."

In Laos, members from Vientiane gathered to bid farewell to President Porter as she departed. Voutthisack Sirisouk reflected on her impact: "I used to be an inactive member...But after hearing her speak, I felt that I should also try harder because I am a child of God."

Throughout her nine-day trip, President Porter participated in several devotionals and training sessions across different countries.

President Porter conveyed her hope for members in Asia: “I hope the members in the Asia Area spread all over know that God is mindful of them...They’re children of the covenant…and they can bring to pass great and marvelous things.”
