Mongolia's President, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, has awarded Tuvshinjargal Gombo, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Polar Star medal. This recognition honors her significant contributions to Mongolia's development and community well-being through her humanitarian efforts.

The award ceremony took place on February 28, 2025, at the Citizens’ Hall of Bayanzurkh District. The chair of the district’s Citizens’ Representative Council, Mr. Mendsaikhan, presented the award.

Gombo has been a prominent leader in various sectors including business, mining, foreign relations, interfaith dialogue, and humanitarian work for many years. She gained public attention when she represented the Church during Pope Francis' visit to Mongolia in September 2023.

For over 13 years with the Church, Gombo has organized numerous events and established connections with local government agencies. Her initiatives include promoting self-reliance programs and English language education. The Church supports projects in education, health care, child protection, and disaster relief.

Additionally, Gombo has worked with Brigham Young University on educational conferences and cultural projects. She coordinates volunteer activities for major religious organizations in Mongolia and is active in promoting religious freedom.

Significant events include hosting interfaith meetings during Pope Francis' visit and organizing dialogues like the First Ulaanbaatar Interfaith Dialogue.
