On May 23, 2025, Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met with Anatole Collinet Makosso, Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo. Accompanying Elder Soares was Elder Thierry Mutombo, President of the Central Africa Area.

During their meeting, Elder Soares expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister's hospitality and acknowledged his authorization for constructing a new temple in the Republic of the Congo. He highlighted the importance of having a temple and its potential blessings for the country.

The Church is working alongside the government on several humanitarian projects focusing on education, clean water provision, and training medical professionals. These initiatives aim to improve living conditions in various sectors.

Prime Minister Makosso voiced appreciation for the Church's support and requested continued prayers from its leaders as they strive to enhance food security and sanitation in their nation. These collaborative efforts are intended to show love and support for people in the Republic of the Congo.
