The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has unveiled an exterior rendering for the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple. The temple will be constructed on an 18.6-acre site at the intersection of Flying Horse Club Drive and Barossa Valley Road in Colorado Springs. The plans include a single-story building approximately 45,000 square feet in size, alongside a meetinghouse and a utility building. This development marks the first temple for the city.

President Nelson initially announced the temple during the October 2023 general conference. At that time, he stated, “The ordinances and covenants of the temple are of eternal significance. We continue to build more temples to make these sacred possibilities become a reality in each of your lives.”

Currently, Colorado hosts two operational temples: the Denver Colorado Temple and the Fort Collins Colorado Temple. Additionally, construction is underway for another temple in Grand Junction.

Colorado's Intermountain West region is home to nearly 150,000 Latter-day Saints across 310 congregations. The Church established its first mission in Colorado in 1896, with the first official congregation forming shortly thereafter in January 1897.

Temples hold significant importance for Latter-day Saints as places where they can feel God's love and peace, learn about God’s plan and gospel teachings, make promises with God and their spouses, and unite families through sacred ordinances both in this life and beyond.
