Thousands of women convened at Brigham Young University and online from April 30 to May 2, 2025, for the BYU Women’s Conference. The gathering focused on spiritual teachings delivered by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and other instructors.
The theme for 2025 was inspired by Moses 6:34, “Behold my Spirit is upon you ... and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore walk with me.”
The event commenced with a keynote address from Sister J. Anette Dennis, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency. She emphasized the importance of choosing to “abide in the Savior,” stating, “As you choose to abide in the Savior, He will abide in you, and you need never walk alone, no matter where you go or what you do in this life!” Sister Dennis suggested studying recent talks by President Russell M. Nelson to understand the promises and blessings accessible through covenants with God. These talks include “The Everlasting Covenant,” “Spiritual Treasures,” “Overcome the World and Find Rest,” “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation,” and “Rejoice in the Gift of Priesthood Keys.”
Susan H. Porter, the Primary General President, spoke the following day on humility, encouraging women to walk with the Savior. She remarked, “Humility touches hearts. Humility changes hearts. Humility opens our hearts to receive the Spirit of God.” Porter shared personal anecdotes, including being stuck on a tarmac in Kyiv, describing a reliance on God for strength. She concluded by urging preparation for the Second Coming by becoming “humble followers of Christ.”
The conference closed with remarks from Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He commended the dedication of women who “walk with Jesus Christ” and are guided by faith. “Our doctrine is clear; we are to be positive and of good cheer. We emphasize our faith, not our fears,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of remaining “safe when we walk with Jesus.”
The BYU Women’s Conference, an event hosted since 1976, is one of the largest gatherings of Latter-day Saint women globally. It offers an array of sessions with numerous speakers and fosters opportunities for service and fellowship. Traditionally sponsored by the Relief Society, the conference is now a program managed by BYU Continuing Education.
The speeches are accessible for viewing on various platforms, and more information about past conferences can be found in the Gospel Library.
