The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is working with five organizations to deliver over $4 million in aid to Myanmar following a powerful earthquake in late March. Collaborating with CARE, International Medical Corps, Project HOPE, UNICEF, and the World Food Programme, the Church aims to assist approximately 500,000 affected individuals.

The Sagaing region of Myanmar experienced a 7.7-magnitude earthquake on March 28, 2025, which resulted in over 3,600 fatalities. The earthquake displaced an estimated 200,000 people and was felt as far away as Thailand and China. The region continues to experience aftershocks.

CARE will provide essential items such as household kits, dignity kits, first aid kits, shelter sets, kitchen sets, water bottles, latrines, handwashing stations, and water purification machines. The International Medical Corps will supply blankets, tarps, cooking supplies, hygiene kits, and clean water for two weeks. Project HOPE is set to distribute hygiene kits, dignity kits, water supplies, solar lights, blankets, medicines, medical supplies, generators, and mobile medical teams. UNICEF will support hygiene kits, water provision, sanitation facilities, emergency health kits, and nutrition screening for 500 severely malnourished children. The World Food Programme will focus on purchasing and distributing rice or pulses.

The Church of Jesus Christ is evaluating further relief efforts in partnership with these and other organizations as part of continued response efforts in the earthquake-affected region.
