On March 29, 2025, a ceremony was held to acknowledge the generosity of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their donation to the Equiza Hospital in Estación González Catán, a province in Buenos Aires. Health authorities, municipal representatives, and Church leaders were present.
The Church's donation included delivery beds, fetal monitors, advanced incubators, and an ultrasound machine. The equipment aims to enhance neonatal, obstetric, and childbirth care at the facility, where approximately 80 babies are born each month. This new infrastructure allows mothers to experience labor, delivery, and recovery in the same bed, improving both comfort and medical care.
Hospital Director Dr. Mariana Migliorisi commented, “We are achieving things we never imagined we could do.” Dr. Leandro Jolín, head of neonatology, noted, “Thanks to the Church, we are well equipped to provide care to the community that needs it.”
Dr. Migliorisi also highlighted the successful blood donation campaigns organized in partnership with the Church. “We are extremely grateful for the recent blood donation and eagerly look forward to the next event,” she stated.
The donation is part of a three-year project reflecting ongoing cooperation between the Church and Argentina's local health care system. This initiative underscores both entities' dedication to the welfare of families and newborns in the area.
This effort is one of 100 service projects marking the 100-year anniversary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South America. It reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to strengthening communities and supporting those in need, following the service example set by Jesus Christ.
