Ronald Joe Rice, Skilled Bricklayer and Dedicated Family Man, Dies at 81

Kentucky - Ronald Joe Rice, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 20, 2025. A talented bricklayer, Ron took pride in his work, bringing dedication and craftsmanship to everything he built. He found joy in fishing, hiking, and tending to his beloved tomato garden.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ron coached kids' baseball teams and enthusiastically supported his grandson's soccer games with Boone County Soccer. Known for his quick wit and sharp humor, he was always ready with a clever remark.

Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Ginger Rice; daughter Debbie Thaman; son David Rice (Tracey); grandchildren Brett, Elizabeth, and Raeann Thaman, and Brent, Nathan, and Matthew Rice; and great-grandson Landon Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Vivian Rice, and brothers Gary and Billy Rice.

A memorial visitation and service will be held on April 25, 2025, at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KYUMH or Carters Chapel in Ron's memory.
