God's gifts and protections for making righteous decisions were highlighted by President Dallin H. Oaks during the April 2025 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He emphasized the importance of a Savior, stating, “By far God’s strongest mortal help was His provision of a Savior, Jesus Christ, who would suffer to pay the price and provide forgiveness for repented sins.”

President Henry B. Eyring conducted the session in Salt Lake City, with Church President Russell M. Nelson participating from home. Elder David A. Bednar, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, spoke about Joseph Smith’s experiences leading to the Church's organization 195 years ago and encouraged praying earnestly for divine answers.

Elder Gerrit W. Gong explained the alignment of the atonement, resurrection, and restoration with the Church's founding on April 6, stating, “May we each find in Jesus Christ atonement, resurrection, and restoration — peace, becoming and belonging.”

Presiding Bishop Gérald Caussé noted God's fairness and mercy, offering strength through Jesus Christ's Atonement to endure life's challenges. Elder Steve D. Shumway, a General Authority Seventy, discussed preparation for meeting the Savior through participation in God's work, asserting, “We engage in God’s work, not because God needs us, but because we need God and His blessings.”

Sister Tamara W. Runia of the Young Women General Presidency highlighted repentance as a form of God's love, encouraging continual turning to Him. Elder John A. McCune, also a General Authority Seventy, spoke on the blessings of keeping covenants, leading to spiritual power and outward compassion.

Prayers at the session were given by Elder Rafael E. Pino and Brother Michael T. Nelson. The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square performed, directed by Mack Wilberg with organists Brian Mathias and Andrew Unsworth accompanying.
