Elder Neil L. Andersen | The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced significant milestones for temples in various locations worldwide. The Farmington New Mexico Temple will have a media day on July 14, 2025, followed by tours for invited guests and a public open house from July 17 to August 2, excluding Sundays. Elder Neil L. Andersen is set to dedicate the temple on August 17, 2025.

In Nigeria, groundbreaking ceremonies are scheduled for two temples. The Lagos Nigeria Temple's ceremony will occur on May 10, 2025, led by Elder Alfred Kyungu. This temple will be built in the Ikoyi neighborhood of Lagos and was announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2018 general conference.

Similarly, the Benin City Nigeria Temple will hold its groundbreaking on May 24, 2025, with Elder Adeyinka A. Ojediran presiding. This temple joins others planned in Abuja, Calabar, and Eket.

In Hungary, the Budapest Hungary Temple's groundbreaking is set for June 21, 2025. Elder Rubén V. Alliaud will oversee this event. The site is located in Budapest's Harsánylejtő neighborhood.

Brazil will see the Natal Brazil Temple's groundbreaking on May 17, 2025, under the direction of Elder Mark D. Eddy. This temple marks a significant addition as it becomes the first in Rio Grande do Norte and one of many throughout Brazil.

President Russell M. Nelson has previously emphasized Brazil's importance to the church: “Brazil is part of the heart of the Church.” Temples serve as places where members learn about life's purpose and unite families across generations while committing to live according to Christ’s teachings.
