Camille N. Johnson, Relief Society General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, addressed members on March 16, 2025, emphasizing the potential impact women can have in the world. "We’ve received prophetic direction that as sisters we can and should change the world," she stated during a gathering commemorating one of the largest women's organizations globally.
President Johnson highlighted the importance of preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ by creating covenant communities focused on Him. She encouraged women to utilize their innate gifts to support each other: "Wherever we are, we create that covenant community focused on Jesus Christ."
The Relief Society's global initiative aims to improve women's and children's well-being through various efforts such as maternal care and education. Johnson urged participation at local levels: "And we do that one mother, one woman, one child at a time, just as the Savior would."
Speaking from Nauvoo, Illinois—where the Relief Society was founded in 1842—Johnson drew parallels between past and present members who engage in priesthood ordinances and covenants. She expressed gratitude for being part of this covenant community: "Sisters, it is a glorious time... We know He lives. We know He loves us."
Johnson testified about Joseph Smith's role in restoring divine order for women and emphasized following current Church leadership: "Our objective since 1842 is meant to bring all of our Heavenly Father’s children back home."
First Counselor Sister J. Anette Dennis and Second Counselor Sister Kristin M. Yee joined Johnson in her message. Yee assured women they are never alone: “Our Heavenly Father and Savior know you.” Dennis spoke about expressing love to others so they might feel God's love.
Elder Dale G. Renlund concluded with remarks from Hawaii during the broadcast: “I know that Jesus Christ is aware of your circumstances and desires to bless you.” He emphasized women's influence within the Church as vital.
Renlund quoted Church President Russell M. Nelson regarding women's roles: “The Kingdom of God is not... complete without women who make sacred covenants.” He described how covenant-keeping grants access to God's power.
He clarified that God's power remains connected to His purposes: “God’s power cannot be used for selfish purposes or to exert control over anyone.” Renlund encouraged striving for righteousness through making multiple covenants with God.
Renlund expressed appreciation for women's contributions within families, communities, churches worldwide while testifying about Jesus' restoration work on earth today.
