The Church Historian’s Press has released a new book titled “Carry On: The Latter-day Saint Young Women Organization, 1870–2024.” This publication is the first comprehensive scholarly history of the Young Women organization within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It contributes to existing research on Latter-day Saint women's history and explores broader themes related to women, religion, youth, and childhood.

Lisa Olsen Tait, one of the authors and managing historian for women's history at the Church History Department, referred to "Carry On" as a significant addition to their collection. She stated, “Joining the department’s growing body of work on the Relief Society and the diaries and sermons of women over time, ‘Carry On’ deepens and extends our commitment to women’s history.”

The book traces the evolution of the Young Women organization from its beginnings with Brigham Young's daughters into a global entity today. It provides insights into Church history through various lenses such as generational dynamics, female leadership, institutional development, and cultural change. This perspective is supported by materials from the Church History Library.

Prominent figures like Ruth May Fox, Ardeth G. Kapp, and Emily Belle Freeman are highlighted in shaping programs that engage young women worldwide. Personal narratives from young women outside North America enrich this historical account by illustrating the organization's impact globally.

According to its dust jacket, “No matter the era, the place or the circumstances,” leaders have consistently shown dedication in guiding young women within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“Carry On: The Latter-day Saint Young Women Organization, 1870–2024” is available for purchase at Deseret Book, Amazon, and other retailers. Additional information and excerpts can be found on the Church Historian’s Press website.
