Preliminary construction work has commenced on the future site of the Vancouver Washington Temple, a project undertaken by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With all necessary permits secured, crews are set to begin land clearing, utility installation, and realignment of Bybee Road to facilitate the temple's construction. These initial activities aim to prepare the site for further development and establish essential infrastructure.

Elder Gordon L. Treadway, Area Authority for the Church, stated: “The commencement of this work marks an exciting milestone in the process of building a house of the Lord in the Vancouver area.” He added that this sacred place will be a significant blessing for many Latter-day Saints in Southwest Washington and expressed gratitude for support from the city of Camas.

While building permit and design work continues, no official date has been announced for groundbreaking. However, an announcement is expected soon.

Temples belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are revered as sacred worship spaces where members engage in religious practices that reinforce their faith and familial ties. The Vancouver Washington Temple is intended to serve as a peaceful sanctuary for worship and spiritual growth among Latter-day Saints in the region.

Further announcements regarding groundbreaking dates and other construction milestones will be made as progress continues on the project.
