Elder Dale G. Renlund, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, concluded a two-week ministry across the Africa South Area. His visit included stops in Zambia, Malawi, and South Africa, where he engaged in various activities such as personal ministry, missionary meetings, stake conferences, and devotionals. Elder Renlund was accompanied by his wife, Sister Ruth L. Renlund.

In Zambia on February 17, 2025, Elder Renlund participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Shifwankula Secondary School in Lusaka. The event marked the handover of new school facilities and was attended by local leaders and dignitaries. Central Province Minister Mwabashike Nkulukusa spoke on behalf of the Minister of Education during the ceremony. He said, “The positive feedback is that the learning environment has greatly improved, and the value added to the existing infrastructure will significantly enhance the quality of education for the students.”

Elder Renlund emphasized education's importance within humanitarian efforts: “Education and literacy are keys to personal growth, self-reliance, strong families and meaningful contributions to society," he stated.

In Malawi, Elder Renlund ministered to pioneering families alongside his wife and Elder Denelson Silva from the Africa South Area Presidency. He highlighted women's roles in establishing the gospel: “To get the Church established and growing, it takes women of great faith and great courage."

A significant part of his visit took place in Johannesburg during a sisters' devotional at Sandton Stake Center on February 21. Elder Renlund addressed attendees about discipleship: "He did it so we can all come to Him," referring to Jesus Christ's Atonement.

The trip focused on themes such as faithfulness and discipleship among Latter-day Saints in Southern Africa.
