In a meeting at the Government House of Tucumán, Argentina, provincial government officials and representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed their collaboration on historical record digitization and healthcare initiatives.

The governor of Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo, and Elder Joaquin Costa, President of the South America South Area for the Church, discussed potential partnerships in digitizing and preserving the province's historical records through FamilySearch. This project aims to enhance access to Tucumán's history and genealogy while safeguarding its documented heritage.

Additionally, the Tucumán government acknowledged the Church's humanitarian contributions. In December 2024, a donation was made to improve the province’s healthcare system with equipment such as a CT scanner and an endoscopy tower for Mercedes Serrano Polyclinic in Tafí Viejo. Discussions were held about future collaborations to further strengthen local healthcare services.

Governor Jaldo expressed his appreciation for the Church and FamilySearch's efforts. He highlighted their global humanitarian work's positive impact on the province: "We deeply appreciate the contributions made to our province and are working on securing a new donation for the healthcare system. We also highlight the commitment of the Secretariat for Worship and Engagement with Civil Society Organizations to strengthening relationships with religious communities."

Elder Joaquín Costa outlined the Church’s activities in Tucumán, focusing on service, education, and healthcare. The Church has over 10,000 members in 21 meetinghouses throughout the province actively contributing to community welfare.

The meeting included several key figures: Governor Osvaldo Jaldo; Roxana Díaz, Secretary of State for Worship and Engagement with Civil Society Organizations; Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, Minister of Health; Elder Joaquín E. Costa; Carlos Medina from local Church leadership; Marisol Rivera from FamilySearch; and Ruth Pereyra from Communication.
