Boone County Schools outlines plan for non-traditional instruction days
Dr. Jeff Hauswald Superintendent of Schools | Boone County School

As the possibility of weather-related or emergency disruptions to the school schedule looms, Boone County Schools has outlined its plan for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days. These days are intended to allow students to continue their education from home when in-person classes are not feasible.

NTI days aim to minimize interruptions to the academic calendar and help students stay on track with their studies. On these days, students are required to log in and attend each class period at the regularly scheduled time. Teachers will provide links to virtual class meetings.

Assignments will be distributed in advance or through online platforms like Google Classroom or Canvas. For students without internet access or those with special circumstances, paper packets will be available. Teachers will offer virtual instruction and remain accessible during school hours via email for questions and support.

Students are expected to complete and submit assignments within five school days following an NTI day. To prepare for these days, parents should ensure their children have access to necessary resources such as a device, internet connection, and login credentials for online platforms. Reviewing the NTI plan and assignments with children in advance is also recommended.

The decision to implement an NTI day will be communicated through the district’s messaging system, school websites, and local news outlets. Parents are advised to keep their contact information current with their child’s school office.

Boone County Schools expressed gratitude for parental support: "We appreciate your partnership in making NTI days a success for our students." The district encourages parents with questions or concerns to reach out.

"Thank you for your continued support of Boone County Schools."
