FamilySearch has announced that Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Kathy, will serve as keynote speakers for RootsTech Family Discovery Day. The event is scheduled for March 8 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

RootsTech is recognized as a leading global family discovery event and is hosted annually by FamilySearch, an international genealogy organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This year's event will take place from March 6 to March 8, 2025.

Family Discovery Day offers free admission and features live music alongside family history activities suitable for all ages. Elder and Sister Andersen are set to speak at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time about "the power of discovery and the blessings of temple and family history work." Their address will be followed by a performance from the Piano Guys on the main stage. Both events will be streamed live and available later for on-demand viewing on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

In addition to keynote speeches, attendees can participate in games, art projects, and various activities designed for children. There will also be numerous free family history classes available throughout Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., including special sessions led by John and Kim Bytheway, Scott and Angelle Andersen, and T.C. Christensen.

Virtual participants have access to several digital activities such as Look-a-likes, Relatives at RootsTech, Photo Collage Creator, Free Family Trees, Famous Relatives, Personality Match, Top Contributors, Shared Surnames, along with over 200 new online sessions on Rootstech.org.

Other notable keynote speakers at RootsTech include author Ndaba Mandela (grandson of Nelson Mandela), artist Dana Tanamachi, and Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall. They are expected to share their personal stories related to family and historical experiences.
