On December 26, 2024, the Relief Society of the Mpintsin Ghana Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints made a donation to the Sekondi Female Prison. The donation included assorted food items and toiletries for the inmates. Sister Erica Akwetey, President of the Mpintsin Ghana Stake Relief Society, presented these items. Assistant Director of Prisons Janet Asabea accepted them on behalf of the female inmates.

Brother Yaw Kumah, a high counselor in the stake, emphasized the Church's commitment to societal contributions and aiding those less fortunate. "We are commanded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to visit people who are in prison, clothe the naked, and feed those who are hungry," he stated.

During their visit, Stake leaders engaged with female inmates who shared their life experiences. Despite their circumstances, the inmates expressed gratitude for both the visit and assistance. They participated in singing and dancing with Stake leaders, fostering a positive atmosphere.

Janet Asabea expressed her gratitude towards The Church for its timely support amid challenges in caring for inmates. She highlighted that "feeding rate, as it stands now in the country, is woefully inadequate."

The event was overseen by Stake President Philip Adams and his wife Sister Adams. Members from both the Relief Society Presidency and Stake Communication team were also present.
