The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico designated December 7, 2024, as a national day of service. This event brought together Latter-day Saints and friends to spread hope and light during the Christmas season.

Thousands across Mexico participated in this voluntary service day. Activities included painting schools, cleaning parks, visiting care homes, collecting clothing and food for the homeless, maintaining public squares, among other acts of kindness.

“Our purpose is to reflect the light and love of the Savior in our country. We invite everyone to experience and share the light of Christ through service to others. This year, the focus of the national day of service is to radiate love and compassion,” said Elder Hugo Montoya of the Mexico Area Presidency.

In Tultitlan, church members and friends visited two hospitals to deliver food to family members waiting outside for updates on their loved ones' health. In Mexican states like Chihuahua, Torreon, Mexico, and Queretaro, volunteers cleaned and painted schools, migrant shelters, and public squares aiming to foster healthier community environments.

The national day of service was part of the global Light the World initiative. This annual campaign invites people from all faiths and beliefs to engage in acts of service during the Christmas season by following Jesus Christ's example through small but meaningful deeds.
