The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have released a statement congratulating President-elect Donald Trump on his victory as the 47th President of the United States.

In their message, they stated, "We congratulate President-elect Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States of America. We invite all to pray for him, other elected officers, and leaders of nations around the world." They emphasized that praying for those in public office is a longstanding tradition within their church.

The statement also acknowledged the challenges faced today, urging people to seek divine guidance and strive for peace in their personal lives and communities. The religious leaders expressed appreciation for Vice President Kamala Harris's candidacy and extended gratitude to her and President Joe Biden for their service. "We commend Vice President Kamala Harris for her candidacy and thank her and President Joe Biden for their public service at the nation’s highest levels," they said.

Concluding their message, they offered well-wishes to local, national, and global leaders: "May all our local, national, and world leaders be blessed with wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great public trust afforded to them."
