Nine individuals have been appointed to the Sunday School Advisory Council of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These new members will work alongside the Sunday School General Presidency, consisting of President Paul V. Johnson, Chad H Webb as First Counselor, and Gabriel W. Reid as Second Counselor, who oversee religious instruction within the Church.
The new appointees are Sara Daniela Acosta, Caroline Ainsworth, Isaak Camargo, Kathleen George, Roland Lepore, Fritz-Carl Morlant, Debby Richards, Paul Walker, and Kimberly Willard. They began their service in August and September 2024.
Sara Daniela Acosta started her role in August 2024. She has previously served in various positions including counselor and president in ward Relief Society presidencies and as a full-time missionary in Canada Winnipeg Mission and Arizona Scottsdale Mission. Currently completing a bachelor's degree in linguistics with a Spanish minor from Brigham Young University (BYU), she works at the Provo Missionary Training Center.
Caroline Diniz Ainsworth also commenced her duties in August 2024. Her past roles include branch Young Women president and Sunday School teacher among others. With degrees from BYU-Idaho and BYU in interdisciplinary studies and Portuguese pedagogy respectively, she is involved in language curriculum development at the Provo Missionary Training Center.
Isaak Rodrigues de Camargo joined the council in September 2024. He has served as a Sunday School teacher and full-time missionary among other roles. Pursuing a chemical engineering degree at BYU, he teaches Portuguese at the Provo Missionary Training Center.
Kathleen George began serving on the council in September 2024 with experience as stake and ward Young Women president among other roles. Holding degrees from the University of Utah in speech-language pathology, she practices as a speech-language pathologist at a private clinic.
Roland Léporé's service on the council started in September 2024 after his tenure as president of France Lyon Mission from 2021 to 2024. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering and business management and currently works as an area support manager for the Church’s Priesthood and Family Department.
Fritz-Carl Morlant started his advisory role in August 2024 following previous positions including Sunday School teacher and co-chair for activities. He is studying computer science and business at BYU while working as a founder and product manager at a tech company.
Debby Richards joined the council in September 2024 with prior experience teaching Gospel Doctrine classes among other responsibilities. She holds degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of Utah.
Paul Stephen Walker commenced his service on the council in August 2024 with past experiences including bishopric roles among others. With a communications degree from BYU where he was part of the men's golf team, he is now CEO of Franklin Covey Company.
Kimberly Lynn Willard began her advisory position on the council in September 2024 having served previously as mission leader for Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission along with various teaching roles at Provo Missionary Training Center.
